What is Auctionet?
Auctionet is a platform that brings together hundreds of independent auction houses in one place. You always buy from an auction house — not from Auctionet directly. The auction house is responsible for the item's condition, invoicing, and collection. Auctionet is responsible for the platform and can help you if something goes wrong.
Create an account
To place bids on Auctionet, you need to register an [account] (https://auctionet.com/en/signup). It's free and only takes a few minutes. You'll need a valid email address and must be at least 18 years old.
By creating an account you agree to the [terms].(https://auctionet.com/en/terms_of_use).
To place bids, you will also need to complete your registration.
The most important things to check before bidding
Items are sold as is. Always read the item description carefully and look at all photos before bidding. You can contact the selling auction house for more information about the item.
Also check where the item is located, whether transport is available to your address and what it costs — shipping options are shown on the item page.
No transport option showing? This may be due to the item's size or the auction house not offering shipping to your country. You can always collect the item directly from the auction house.
How bidding works
When you place a bid, you enter the highest amount you are willing to pay — a max bid. The system automatically bids on your behalf at the lowest possible amount up to your max bid. You never pay more than necessary to win. All bids are binding — if you win, you are obligated to pay.
What does it cost?
In addition to the hammer price (the winning bid), a buyer's premium and a fixed hammer fee are added. For certain works of art, a resale right fee also applies. The total amount for the item — including fees — is always shown on the item page before you confirm your bid.
What happens after you win?
You will receive an invoice to be paid within 5 calendar days. Once payment is registered, you order transport via My Pages — or collect the item directly from the auction house. Make sure your identity is verified before you can collect your item.
If something goes wrong
Does the item have a significant defect not apparent from the description? Contact the auction house directly first — they are responsible for handling complaints. If that does not resolve the issue, contact Auctionet support.
