Pirrie Wright’s monochrome Paris apartment is housed in a building that once served as a single-family home.

“I live in what used to be the library,” she explains. “It has a grand look with high ceilings, chevron floors and a marble fireplace. I said yes without even looking at it.”

She affectionately calls it her perfect place.

Working in luxury PR with a background in personal styling, it was her clients who first brought her to Paris.

“This is my sixth apartment since moving here,” she says. “I know a guy who knows my style and exactly what I’m looking for – he found this place for me.”

Pirrie Wright accepted the apartment without even looking at it.

Small Space, Grand Feel

“It’s been so much fun to furnish,” Pirrie continues. “Since it’s a studio, I wanted to recreate the feeling of a small hotel suite, with both a sleeping and sitting area. I like when every piece has a purpose. And because the space itself is so grand, I’ve kept the décor clean and classic.”

Among her favourite pieces is a late 19th-century daybed she discovered at an auction.

“It’s made of beautiful wood in the Empire style. I had it reupholstered in a creamy shade, and it’s the first thing people notice when they walk in. I get so many compliments on it.”

Pirrie describes her interior style as an elegant mix of eras, with a particular love for Art Déco.

“I think a lot of my interest in interiors comes from my family in Louisiana,” she says. “They’ve always been passionate about decorating and hosting – that’s where I got so much inspiration.”

The jewellery box she inherited from her grandmother is one of her most cherished objects.

Family Heirlooms and Personal Touches

Her Paris studio is filled with a blend of heirlooms and auction treasures.

“I’m honestly not too focused on designer names. There are so many beautiful unsigned pieces. For me, it’s more about the shape and the feeling than who made it,” she explains, showing a small Art Déco wooden box with a bright red interior that she inherited from her grandmother.

“It’s the perfect jewellery box, and it’s followed me from home to home. I’ll keep it forever.”

Pirrie Wright is known for her 1920s-infused aesthetic.

A Passion for the Hunt

Her best auction find so far is an Art Déco armoire she discovered on Auctionet for just €50.

“I drove two hours out into the French countryside to pick it up, but it was so worth it. It’s a gorgeous wooden piece on little feet,” she says with a smile.

When asked what she dreams of finding next, Pirrie doesn’t hesitate:

“A pair of Art Déco bedside tables. It’s so hard to find two that match, that are tall enough, and that still have their original hardware and details.”

And the one that got away?

“I once lost a Josef Hoffmann table with two chairs. It went for an amazing price, and I still think about it — it would have been the perfect little seating area for my apartment.”

Art déco is one of Pirrie Wright's favourite design eras.
