Since 2009, Susanne Pontus Persson has worked in various ways within the art and design world through her company alter-ego PUBLIC.
Persson/Public Studio works primarily, but not exclusively, in marble and natural stone and often starts from marble offcuts – from both her own and others' production. She allows these offcuts, with their specific character and limitations, to form the starting point for each new, subsequent, unique work.
The STRIPE side table is part of Persson's ongoing SPILL series for Public Studio, where marble offcuts are salvaged and transformed into unique side tables. Numbered and signed by the artist.
