Adami, Valerio born 1935, Italian painter. Educated at the Accademia di Brera in Milan. In 1955 he moved to Paris, where he was influenced by both Roberto Matta and Wifredo Lam. From 1964 he developed his own style where large flat surfaces were surrounded by strong black contours. Later in the 1970s, his painting became political, where he sought motifs in European history, literature, philosophy and mythology. Between 1985 and 1998, four major retrospective exhibitions have shown his art in Paris, Valencia, Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires.
