Double-hemisphere engraved map, some outline colour, with cartouche in black and white, decorated at top with cherubs sitting on two dolphins surrounding the coat of arms of the Dauphin of Viennois. Printed on two sheets, joined as issued. With California as an island and a large Terre de Iesso. The northwestern coast of North America is mostly blank and great southern continent, Terre Australe et Inconnue, still appears, and there are only partial outlines of Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.
Centerfold partly faded, some repairs to lower part. Some spotting, some marginal staining, upper margin with a few discolorations from tape. Framed.
