Bengt Åberg (1941–2015) was a painter, graphic artist and illustrator, born in Sundsvall and active in Medelpad. With the exception of brief studies under Bengt Lindström, he was self-taught. His colourful, expressionist painting relates to Lindström and the CoBrA group, with recurring motifs such as trees, birds, ocean waves and clowns. He held solo exhibitions in Härnösand and Umeå, among others, and participated in the travelling exhibition Tre målare at Galleri Norrland together with Bernt Kumlin and Malte Nyberg-Tolf. Åberg is represented at the Swedish Parliament, at the museums in Sundsvall and Landskrona, as well as in several county councils and municipalities.
