Bruno Gambone made his first attempts in the workshop of his father, the later famous Guido Gambone, in Florence. He continued with one of his father's former associates, Andrea d’Arienzo. At the same time as working with ceramics, he was involved in other pursuits, and during a period in the 1960s he moved to New York, where he associated with artists such as Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol. However, after his father's death in 1969, he returned to Italy and ceramics, taking over his father's workshop. His works are, in comparison to his father's, more stripped-down and geometrically inspired.
