About the designer:
Arne Norell (1917–1971) was a prominent Swedish furniture designer who founded his business in Solna in 1954. He worked with a wide range of materials such as solid wood, bentwood, leather, textile, and metal, often in well-considered combinations. Several of his most famous models were put into production after his passing. The design language has clear influences from Danish design, which is noticeable in, for example, the “Ari” armchair, which was awarded the Showpiece of the Year in London in 1973. The “Sirocco” model is also considered one of his more well-known works.
Condition
Wear in the form of marks and scratches. Cushions and padding exhibit a certain age-related odor with hints of cellar character.
