Description

Model builder, Jonas Haraldsson.

Length 70, height 65 cm. With stand made of wood.
HMS Gladan (S01) is a sail/exercise ship of the Swedish Navy. The ship forms part of the Schooner Division along with HMS Falken (S02). The drawings were made by the then naval director Tore Herlin. The Riksdag granted SEK 1.5 million for the purpose. The glade is now painted with a red ground colour (which used to be blue) and which extends about 20 cm above the waterline. The tip of the bow drill is now the same color as the rest of the bow probe, previously it was also blue. The necks of the raw, top bars and forks have been painted white, to mark that she is the first built of her kind. Older images show that even the Falcon may have had white beaks.
Launched in 1946.
