-Pseudonym for Karl-Heinz Herzfeld, German sculptor and blacksmith, who mainly works with tangible materials such as wood, iron and stone. He studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Joseph Beuys and was friends with Blinky Palermo and Norbert Tadeusz, among others. Anatol Herzfeld took part in the Documenta in Kassel three times; at the beginning of the 1980s he himself taught at the Düsseldorf State Academy of Arts, and since around 1982 he has been running his own studio on the museum island of Hombroich. As with his teacher Beuys, his appearance with distinctive moustache, hat and dungarees is his trademark.
