"The first idea was actually a double drawing where one half was Dawit in the cell counting countless days with this graphic element where he crosses the bars. The other half was a newspaper reader where the newspaper is filled with all the days counted become columns. But I came to the conclusion that it was stronger and more immediate if it could be made simpler, cleaner. So it was the version that I sent in and which was then published in Dagens Nyheter.
