Bertil Almqvist “Bertila” was a very versatile man. He is best known for the many books about Barna Hedenhös, but his most widely circulated picture is “A Swedish Tiger” from the war years. He was active as a writer and illustrator and for more than thirty years made political joke pages in Aftonbladet.

From the beginning of the 30's until 1968, Aftonbladet published a joke page on current events in large and small pieces every week. In the beginning they went by the name “Veckans Pyttipanna”, but this was soon changed to the more famous “På Tapeten”.
