Max Mikael Book, b. 1953, Swedish visual artist, graphic artist and professor, is one of the most interesting contemporary artists. He has a powerful painting with bold contrasts and a strong sense of light and shadow and encounters of textures and interesting materials. Max Book's sense of the unexpected, where he can mix graffiti and foreign objects into his artworks, draws the eye, like an explosion between culture and nature. In the years 1995–2000 he was professor of painting at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm. His works of art are represented at, among others, Moderna Museum in Stockholm, National Museum in Stockholm, Gothenburg Museum and Norrköping Art Museum.
