Chalk white. About 100 x 100 cm. Melker Bent-Inge Garay is a writer and was born in 1966 in Chile. In 1970 he came to Sweden and today lives in Norrköping. He has pursued extensive university studies in the humanities and social sciences.
Garay's books revolve around philosophical, theological and existential questions. Debut novel The church warden's secret notes has been translated into several languages. Several shorter texts have also been filmed, and in 2016 the theater play Kinski och döden, which is based on one of the author's novels, will be staged in Norrköping.
In 2009 he was elected to Sweden's Authors' Association, in 2012 to Swedish PEN and in November 2014 Melker Garay was elected to Chile's Authors' Association. He is also an ARTIST and runs the cultural publication OPULENS.SE www.melkergaray.se.
