Description

Oil on canvas, 24 x 35 cm.

Hult was born in 1922 and died in 2012 in Höganäs. He studied at Skånska painting school in Malmö and Wadskjær painting school in Copenhagen in 1946 and at Otte Sköld's painting school in Stockholm 1947–1948. Together with Bengt Orup and Kaj Siesjö, he formed the abstractly oriented art group Grupp III in Helsingborg in 1949. The group's collaboration included the publication of graphics portfolios.
In 1952, Hult participated in the Campagne Européenne de la Jeunesse exhibition in Edinburgh and he was represented in the traveling exhibition Swedish Abstract in the USA in 1955. He was awarded the Skåne Art Association scholarship in 1952.
Among his public works are the decoration of glass mosaics for the Höganäs Child Care Center and a mural painting at Helsingborg's newspaper.
