Description

Thanks to Christian Dell, the folding lattice principle found its way into living rooms and workshops in the 1930s. Designer Floyd Paxton picked it up at the beginning of the new millennium with his “Zoom”* hanging light and created a variable light that can take many different forms. With just a few movements, it is possible to continuously increase its diameter from 20 centimeters to 1.30 metres.

When it came to the material, Paxton opted for stainless steel slats that are attached to slats made of transparent polycarbonate film and riveted together. The bulbs are on the inside so that no light dazzles the viewer. Up to three of these concertina rings can be combined with each other and combined to form a chandelier that looks magnificent but also exudes a certain pragmatic objectivity. For fans of crystal ornaments there is a set of crystal pendants that can also be attached to the lamp.
