Melker Garay is a Swedish artist who started painting seriously in 2013. He was born in Chile in 1966 and came to Sweden in 1970. Garay is an autodidact with his own atelier. His first exhibition was displayed in Norrköping, his hometown, at Kameleont gallery. Since, he has had his work exhibited both in Sweden and abroad.

Garay is also an author and has written seven books – both novels and short story collections. They have been translated into languages such as English, Spanish and Russian. He has also published the internationally recognized book MVC as a tribute to the Argentinian author Jorge Luis Borges, a book that can be regarded as conceptual art. His literature is concerned with existential and philosophical question formulations. Garay is also publisher and owner of the Swedish publishing house Ekström & Garay.
