Visual artist, visual artist, born 1902 in Chicago, Illinois, died February 8, 1975. He studied at the Technical School in Stockholm, and on his own in Paris. He was inspired by the great expressionists.
He was one of the representatives of the group Color and Shape and a politically conscious visual artist. His motifs were often socially emphasized, depictions of workers for example, Banners over the bridge, but he also painted landscapes and floral motifs.
He painted brutally heavily with rich colors, rough contours and thick with color. He was known for his violent temperament and he loved the color, as can be seen from his paintings. He was a Marxist agitator who also wanted to use his painting as a weapon in art.
In 1937 he makes a trip to Moscow and he paints Morning in the Soviet Union. In his paintings, he strongly attacks the bourgeoisie, Franco and Hitler.
