Martti Rytkönen, born in Norra Kerelen, Finland, studied at Konstfack. In 1994 he joined Orrefors Kosta Boda. From this year his vase "Rävdröm" is marked. Two years later he created the work "Ungkarlsblomma". Both of these can be found in the National Museum's collections. At Orrefors, Rytkönen has made several vases in Grail technique. These are often characterized by an expressive figurative decoration like the auction vase. For the company, he has also designed the "City" and "Valentino" series.
