Palsgaard Curated 43 is the latest in an exquisite series of auctions featuring carefully selected items of high quality. This time, the specialists at Palsgaard Kunstauktioner have handpicked 200 lots, creating a lively and refined mix of design, art, and craftsmanship. There's plenty of Danish furniture design, represented by Børge Mogensen, Svend Aage Eriksen, Hans J Wegner, and Arne Wahl Iversen. But there's also Chinese porcelain, Swedish-made lighting, quite a bit of Japanese work, and a plump reading armchair upholstered in zebra print.
Aida Tomiyasu's casket in dark-patinated bronze is a work of high quality. Christian Peter Hansen's seated woman "I udkanten af skoven" ("On the Edge of the Forest") is typical of its time. And as a contemporary contrast: Pio & Tito Toso's organic "Nodo" pendant lamp in mouth-blown glass.
