At Metropol Auktioner, all the focus is currently on art in three dimensions. There, they show how the concept of sculpture can stretch from classical ideals, via the abstract forms of modernism, and all the way to creations you need to look at both once and twice before you can place them in the right context.
Thus, this theme becomes rich in diversity and expression. Sverker Eklund’s little wooden lady, for example, stands beside Wilhelm Warmuth’s rather tradition-laden philosopher. And alongside Knut Jern’s delicate female figure, we see something entirely different by Kerstin Hedman.
