Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm has assembled yet another Design Sale. For the 21st time we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in design and decorative arts from the Art Nouveau era to the present day. From the early 20th century comes a dining room suite from Nordiska Kompaniet. This is followed by ceiling lamps from the era when Swedish decorative arts became world-renowned, and of course there is a reading armchair with pleasing curves à la Swedish Modern. A bull's head by Gunnar Nylund, a Pop jug by Inger Persson and a pair of deliberately angular loudspeakers are also included, as is a Superspider — a model that first saw the light of day when lounge chairs were placed as solitary statement pieces in Swedish homes. And from the end of the century, twelve champagne flutes from the Nobel series.
And all of that is merely a selection from an extensive catalogue that also includes colour and form by Birger Kaipainen, Berndt Friberg, Alvar Aalto, Elsa Gullberg, Wilhelm Kåge and Märta Måås-Fjetterström.
