Art at Kolonn offers a concise and sharp summary of what is now available at Auktionshuset Kolonn. Of the 111 lots, most can be hung on the wall, but the theme also allows space for a handful of sculptures of various kinds. The visual art on offer is equally diverse, spanning from the 18th century to today. Among the earlier works is an officer’s portrait by Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein. From there, the selection moves through 19th-century landscape painting, ink washes by Jenny Nyström, and a lively oil painting by Eugène de Kermadec, culminating in a garden motif by Sven X:et Erixson. Add drawings by both Lena Cronqvist and Roger Risberg, as well as etchings by Anders Zorn, and you have a snapshot of what is on offer.
Olle Baertling’s “Mouvement Cosmique” is a chapter in itself. Among the sculptural works, a bronze boy mowing the lawn is a playful highlight — note the size: 45 cm tall!
