Tage Jakobsson was, by all accounts, a clever man.
When Bonniers Folkbibliotek was established in 1946, he was appointed its director. As something of a PR stunt, Jakobsson launched a competition to design a new type of bookshelf. He brought along both the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design (Svenska Slöjdföreningen) and the national association of interior and furniture architects (SIR).
The winner? Naturally, Nisse Strinning. He was awarded 1,000 SEK for his entry – and what happened next is widely regarded as design history.
Now, Crafoord Auktioner Malmö invites you to own a part of that history. Under the heading String-theme, 18 highly modular lots are presented.
The rest is up to your imagination.
Welcome!
