If you look up the term "bibliophilia" in any dictionary, you'll encounter synonyms like book lover, book enthusiast, and book collector. The latter term can sometimes verge on the obsession of the bibliomaniac, whose interest often extends beyond the content of the pages to the value of the book as a physical object. But regardless of where one finds themselves on this spectrum, attention is once again drawn to the bookshelves of Crafoord Auktioner Lund for the October Book Auction.
Among the treasures is a set of travel journals by Carl Peter Thunberg, one of Linnaeus's apostles, bound in four volumes of leather from the 18th century. Nearby, you'll find an "Unusual ABC" book, as well as two volumes of Joan Miró's Graphic Bible. Also on offer is a book about Göta Canal, a mathematical work by Carl Erik Kjellin, and some invaluable issues of Journal for Hunters and Naturalists—a must-read for zoologists and those currently spending time in hunting towers around Sweden's forests, along with much more.
