Karlshamn's Museum

Karlshamns Museum is one of the region's larger local heritage museums, managing an extensive collection of objects and art with strong ties to Karlshamn and its history. The museum is owned and operated by Föreningen Karlshamns Museum in municipal premises.
As part of the work to develop and renew the museum's art collection, the association's board has recently adopted new guidelines for which works should be included in the collection going forward.
The focus is on:
art created by artists who were born in or have been long-term active in Karlshamn,
works with motifs from Karlshamn that are of high artistic quality or have particular historical or topographical value,
and other art of high quality that is donated to the museum.
Based on the new guidelines, the museum's acquisitions and deaccessioning group has carried out a comprehensive review of the collection. As a result, over 90 works of art are now being offered for sale through Ekenbergs Auktioner.
The themed auction thus provides an unusual opportunity to acquire works of art that have formed part of Karlshamns Museum's collections for many years — while the sale creates room for the museum to continue developing and complementing its art collection for the future.
