A warm welcome to an auction beyond the ordinary. The specialists at Palsgaard Kunstauktioner have here selected outstanding Danish design and mixed it with modern painting, and indeed the occasional antique as well.
Among the absolute highlights of the auction are the paintings by Asger Jorn and Pierre Alechinsky. With these two original works, last seen at auction in 1984 and 1988 respectively, Palsgaard Kunstauktioner places itself on a new level. Also worth mentioning is the "Copenhagen Chair II" ("Københavnerstolen II"), designed by Mogens Voltelen and presented at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Art in 1960. The model, an outstanding example of the finest Danish furniture craftsmanship, is extremely rare. And then there is the lighting artistry of Louis Poulsen - the catalogue includes some early examples.
Add to that ceramics by Axel Salto, table lamps by Arne Jacobsen and Finn Juhl, two paintings by Bengt Lindström, furniture by Hans J Wegner, silver from Georg Jensen, a daybed by Josef Frank, and much - yes, MUCH - more.
