There stands a speed demon outside Uppsala Auktionskammare – a Jaguar E-Type Series 1 FHC, 1966 model. British racing green – what else? A classic among classics.
It was in 1961 that the Jaguar E-Type took the world by storm when it was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. The progressive aerodynamic design combined with world-class performance raised the bar to a new level for what a sports car could be. Enzo Ferrari is said to have called it "the most beautiful car ever built." Standing before the example in Uppsala, one cannot help but agree.
And it is truly a magnificent specimen. It has undergone a full restoration and is now presented in wonderful condition. Under the bonnet lurks Jaguar's legendary XK engine – a straight-six with twin overhead camshafts – which in its 4.2-litre form delivers 265 bhp. And as you might suspect, it sounds just as good as it looks.
Welcome!
