Stockholms Auktionsverk — the world's oldest auction house — knows the art of selecting, curating and presenting quality, and gathering it all into a catalogue. Now just over 400 lots are offered for our enjoyment. Antiques are paired with design, paintings with Chinese porcelain, Oriental rugs with silver, and furniture with curious objects in the smaller format.
From the west coast, Inge Schiöler contributes a purple-hued coastal landscape. Arne Norell is represented by a prize-winning reclining chair, here upholstered in a cocoa-brown leather. Olle Baertling adds a touch of geometry, and for those who wish to set a table with conversation pieces this autumn, Johann Joachim Kändler's "The Capture of Triton" and that mythological scene at a potpourri urn are almost essential. Paul Graf's demure fox from 1896 is furthermore a little gem. Bengt Lindström's brushwork is another — though of an entirely different kind. The same can be said of KG Bejemark's small expressive bronzes.
Welcome to Stockholms Auktionsverk and welcome to Lilla Kvalitén!
