A pair of French Empire candelabras tower among a wealth of beautiful objects at Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm. The time has come for Art & Antiques XVI. The auction house's specialists have assembled around 300 lots selected from many centuries and cultures.
Among the theme's most graceful works are Ferdinand Boberg's winter landscape, Shiro Kasamatsu's cherry blossoms and perhaps also the gossamer-thin air that surrounds August Hagborg's singer.
Considerably more austere are the pikeman's armour, the chief's chair from the Congo and the Italian Sgabello chairs.
And in the space that opens up between these extremes lies a wealth of wonderful curiosities, collectibles and all manner of objects that give the spirit of discovery a gentle nudge in the right direction.
Such as the gilded hanging lamp, the carved crocodile, the uniform jacket, the antique coins, the pillbox and the dance mask from the Ivory Coast. To name but a few.
Welcome!
