Like stepping across the threshold of an elegant boutique – that is the feeling when Skånes Auktionsverk presents With a Passion for Jewellery – Pedigo Design.

Pedigo AB was established in 1984 by Lars-Erik Törndahl. His wife, Anna-Lisa, took on the role of travelling sales representative, presenting pearls, clasps, and loose stones from Ystad in the south to Kiruna in the far north. Initially, the market responded with cautious interest, and Anna-Lisa therefore offered broad collections in order to better understand what was most appealing in each location. At the time, the company operated purely as a wholesaler, selling exclusively to retailers and goldsmiths. The focus lay on cultured and natural saltwater pearls, including the finest South Sea pearls.

Alongside this work, Anna-Lisa arranged fashion shows and gave lectures for organisations such as Rotary and Inner Wheel clubs across Sweden, while also educating shop staff in the art of handling pearls.

Following journeys to Japan and Hong Kong, an interest in freshwater pearls also emerged. The Swedish market showed a strong appetite for these, and freshwater pearls in all their forms soon became a natural part of the company’s business.

Anna-Lisa, who had long expressed her creativity through painting, was drawn to creating her own jewellery designs. Her knowledge of silversmithing and her connections with several well-known goldsmiths led to her designing clasps and pendants herself under the name Pedigo Design.

At Skånes Auktionsverk we are now presented with 53 selected works from Pedigo Design. The selection showcases the company’s broad and imaginative jewellery collection and is complemented by a handful of exquisite pearls. For jewellery enthusiasts, it is an opportunity not to be missed.
