Welcome to Vårens Kvalitet 2026 at Karlstad-Hammarö Auktionsverk! The catalogue is very substantial with over 650 lots across a wide range of categories.
An absolute highlight is a cigarette case in 14K gold, made in Riga by Jüliis Blüms. A double-sided table clock by Augustin Bourdillon, watchmaker in Stockholm 1761–1799, is a tempting morsel from the applied arts section, and among the mechanical dream objects is the pinball machine Theatre of Magic.
The art section presents a broad range of works. On offer are paintings and woodblock prints by Lars Lerin, atmospheric landscapes by Bror Lindh, Olof Walfrid Nilsson and Otto Hesselbom, a high-quality work by Arthur Wardle and more contemporary pieces by among others Ingemar Lööf, Esaias Thorén and Sigrid Schauman.
The design and applied arts section encompasses a serving trolley designed by Alvar Aalto and manufactured in Hedemora, a generous selection of familiar figures and characters by Lisa Larson, an abundance of silver, Chinese porcelain, Scandinavian lighting design, Swedish röllakan rugs and Danish design furniture. Add to this several sought-after pieces by Jonas Bohlin, classics by Bruno Mathsson and a fine mix of folk art pieces.
The catalogue also includes curtains and pelmets woven by "Fryksdalsmora" Ida Sahlström, a number of scarves from Hermès, sports memorabilia from the 1958 FIFA World Cup, a jukebox, a penny-farthing bicycle and much, much more.
