Carl Johan De Geer refuses to be confined to any -ism or placed neatly into a box.
Should anyone attempt to do so, he would break free, slip away, and create something entirely different in spirit.
It is hardly possible to summarize his life’s work. He is an artist, author, filmmaker, musician, designer, cultural journalist, photographer, actor, and stage designer – and even that list may not suffice.
His kaleidoscopic mode of expression finds its perfect setting in the 21-lot themed auction now presented by Uppsala Auktionskammare. Here we find his now-iconic work Skända flaggan (Desecrate the Flag), shown alongside photographs, lithographs, and a pair of bright yellow armchairs that also reveal Carl Johan De Geer as a furniture designer.
