With Woxholt Deluxe Auctions October sale, Holbæk’s finest once again presents a carefully curated selection of art, crafts, and design.
Several of Denmark’s most renowned furniture designers are represented – Poul Kjaerholm, Ole Wanscher, and Børge Mogensen, to name just a few. Yet perhaps the most distinguished piece in the auction is by a Brazilian architect: Sergio Rodrigues, the creator of the Luciana sideboard, a model that today is highly sought after in the world of design.
Highlights can be found across all price ranges. Kay Bojesen’s car-driving figures are toys that hold their own as sculptures. Verner Panton’s cylindrical Barboy must surely be one of design history’s coolest bar cabinets. Hans J. Wegner’s strictly composed – and entirely black – sofa GE 285 is a slightly unusual, but nonetheless finely chosen, example of Danish furniture art.
And what could be more Danish than the Lego sign in red, white, yellow, and black – presented here completely unused, still in its original packaging?
