Glass has adorned and enhanced Swedish interiors since the 16th century. Over the centuries, new techniques were developed at various glassworks as styles evolved. Art glass experienced its major breakthrough in the 20th century, when skilled artists, working closely with glassblowers and engravers, created exquisite works of art.
In our Special Auction dedicated to Art Glass, we primarily present Swedish pieces by renowned designers and glassworks, such as Ravenna by Sven Palmqvist, Ariel by Edvin Öhrström and Ingeborg Lundin, and cast glass by Bertil Vallien. The catalogue also includes two rare pieces attributed to Gunnar Nylund from Strömbergshyttan, as well as the colorful and expressive Bambu vase by Oiva Toikka from Nuutajärvi.
