Once again, Crafoord Auctions Malmö shines a spotlight on the marvellous figurines from the Dahl Jensen Porcelain Factory. This time, some 20 models from the Danish firm are presented—an especially fitting occasion, as the company would have celebrated its 100th anniversary this year.
It was in 1925 that Jens Peter Jensen (who adopted the name Dahl-Jensen in 1926) established his own company just outside Copenhagen. By then, he had studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and spent several years working at the renowned porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl.
What he would go on to create is now on full display at Crafoord Auctions Malmö, where these pieces reveal Dahl Jensen’s deep affection for both people and animals in his artistic expression.
