Auktionsverket Engelholm has filled a modern cabinet with Ceramics & Craft.
Well deserving of its place is Hans Hedberg’s lidded bowl in intensely orange-yellow high-fired faience. It stands alongside stoneware pieces by Henning Nilsson, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Gunnar Nylund, and Rolf Palm. And as if it had done something it shouldn't, Åke Holm’s hedgehog seems to be heading in another direction.
A true display of glazing mastery is seen in the surface of Gertrud Lönegren’s large, almost magically shimmering green dish from Upsala-Ekeby’s 1930s production. Add one of those bronze vases from Guldsmedsaktiebolaget next to the dish, and your interior is nearly complete.
