20th Century Art & Design

Welcome to Lawrences for the summer edition of their anticipated 20th Century Art & Design sale. This auction presents an opportunity for both seasoned collectors and new enthusiasts to acquire classic pieces spanning various artistic movements and design disciplines.

Among the highlights from the fine art section are multiple coastal scenes by contemporary artist Rebecca Lardner, surrealism by Arthur Lett Haines and cityscapes by Regis Bouvier de Cachard. As well as original works, there are prints by L.S. Lowry print and Cyril Edward Power. Other notable inclusions are works by Fred Yates and Robert Lenkiewicz, amongst others.

For furniture enthusiasts, a highlight is the iconic Egg armchair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. Mid-century British design is strongly represented with pieces by G-Plan and Ercol. Reaching back to the turn of the century, the Arts & Crafts movement features a firescreen and a William Birch child's chair.

The jewellery section offers silver pieces by Vivianna Torun for Georg Jensen, alongside a collection of Lea Stein brooches.

The decorative arts section is equally impressive. Pottery collectors will find desirable examples from Troika, Clarice Cliff and Eric Ravilious for Wedgwood. The glass selection features pieces from Whitefriars and Monart, alongside Lalique. Completing these offerings is a notable Jaeger LeCoultre Aquarium Marina mantel clock.
