Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsingborg has taken its place on the same side of the easel as the artists, now turning particular attention to the models—those who, with more or less patience, have stood, sat, or lain before painters, printmakers, and sculptors.
Just over 50 works are presented. Among them, of course, are numerous nude studies. The pieces span different eras and are created by a variety of artists—some well-known, others unfamiliar to us. Notable names include Georg Pauli, Alexander Rudbeck, Jules Schyl, Hugo Wolfgang Rheinhold, and Eugene Wagner.
Mathilius Schack Elo’s powerful sculpture Eva 1942, standing one and a half meters tall, rises above the rest and forms a striking contrast to the many smaller bronzes and oil paintings.
