When Design Sale XI sets sail from Crafoord Auktioner Stockholm like a grand galleon, it's hard not to be impressed.
With more than 240 lots, all selected with what can truly be described as a keen curatorial eye. There are plenty of classics—like a lounge chair with matching ottoman by Charles and Ray Eames, or Edvin Öhström’s Ariel piece Flickan och Duvan (The Girl and the Dove).
A rug by Märta Måås-Fjetterström, furniture by Josef Frank and Bruno Mathsson, lighting by Hans Bergström and Hans-Agne Jakobsson, ceramics by Berndt Friberg, and a silver ring by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe. These are mixed with more unusual items of highly varied character.
Two examples: a small charming jar decorated with sporting figures and a sun lounger upholstered in a textile that’s in full bloom. And then there are those items that seem to echo like slow-motion wingbeats above our heads—like the round table from NK that once stood in Ivar Kreuger’s office.
A warm welcome to explore this selection of handpicked design pieces of first-rate quality!
