If you have an interest in graphic art and an empty bookshelf, then Stockholms Auktionsverk has the auction for you. Under the heading Marc Chagall Catalogue Raisonné, no fewer than 32 volumes are presented, containing everything you need to know about the world-renowned artist’s graphic works. Chagall, of course, needs no introduction. But if one were to be given in three sentences, he was born in 1887 in what was then Russia. He grew up in poverty but managed to study in St. Petersburg and later move to Paris. After several moves back and forth, he established himself as one of the leading artists before being forced to flee to the U.S. in 1941. He worked in an expressionist style with dreamlike compositions in what art historians sometimes call a vibrant palette. His extensive graphic work is now gathered at Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsingborg.
