The 2025 auction season starts at Stockholms Auktionsverk in Hamburg with a wide range of high-quality classic auction items: Paintings, prints and sculptures, selected silver items and porcelain figurines as well as Asian bronzes from antiquity to contemporary art are up for sale. Place your bid at 'Fine Art and Antiques' from March 12-25: Art lovers and collectors can look forward to various portraits and marine paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries, including a pair of portraits by Egidius Mengelberg, a portrait of the French Queen Maria Leszczyńska by a close follower of Louis Tocqué, works by the Austrian marine painter Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg and the Norwegian Johan Jacob Bennetter. The range of signed original prints also includes big names such as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall and Serge Poliakoff. North German painting is represented with works by Ernst Eitner, Julius Wohlers and Heinrich Blunck. The large-format work of Pratuang Emjaroen, one of Thailand's most important abstract painters, is also worthy of special mention. Collectors can also look forward to a large selection of silver items, including rococo table chandeliers, a vermeil vase by Cornelius Poppe, baroque tankards from Konstanz, St. Petersburg and much more. French pendulums such as 'La Leçon d'Astronomie' after Jean-André Reiche and porcelain figurines designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler are for sale. The Asian department is represented by various bronzes, such as a three-foot incense burner from the Qing dynasty or a large fire-gilded bronze figure of the wrathful deity Vajrabhairava from Nepal.
