For decades, Lars Bertle brought color to Helsingborg, so it’s no surprise that a collection of over 60 works is now being presented by Helsingborgs Auktionskammare, showcasing a cross-section of this Swedish modernist artist's career.
Bertle was a self-taught artist, and it wasn’t until his 40s that he fully committed to art as a career. Now, we are presented with over 60 pieces marked by vibrant color, an expressive desire to explore, and a range of motifs from clear landscapes to heavily abstracted interpretations of reality. Among the paintings, a few circular panels from Bertle’s early production stand out, as well as several sculptures, particularly a gold-colored whale (or is it?) that grabs attention as it rests on a bright red pedestal.
Welcome to explore the artistry of Lars Bertle!
