The Roof of the World. That’s what Tibet is sometimes called – and it’s not hard to see why, given its location on the highest plateau on Earth. This remarkable landscape is bordered to the south by the Himalayas, and its unique, often colorful buildings seem to climb up into the clouds.
With Crafoord Auktioner Lund, we are invited to travel there – in thought, in spirit, or however one wishes. Through a theme auction featuring 25 carefully selected lots, we are given a glimpse into a fascinating foreign culture, represented by jewelry, decorative and religious artifacts, and a few exquisite paintings. A gilded Amitayus from the 1500s stands out as a delicate masterpiece, while a silver butter lamp impresses with its intricate details. As a wildcard, there’s also a Japanese carved wooden figure of Dainichi Nyorai, adding an unexpected twist among the Tibetan treasures.
Welcome to Crafoord Auktioner Lund to explore a world of mystique and beauty!
