Taking on a collection of knives is no simple task. After an initial rough sorting, one faces complex dilemmas. Should the knives be categorized by usage, age, or origin? How should they be ranked? To what extent does condition influence their emotional or historical value?
At Karlstad Hammarö Auktionsverk, 46 different knives are carefully displayed in a row. The collection begins in Munkfors, where master knifemaker Olle Larsson elevated the craft to an art form. From his seven featured pieces, a red thread runs through the collection via the "Knife King" Johan Fredrik Hedenberg, and continues to Thore Sunna’s all-horn knife. After that, it often comes down to individual taste and preference.
