A hallmark of Finnish design history is the art of lighting, and now Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsinki embraces this Finnish specialty by presenting 71 lamps, from floor to ceiling. Naturally, the auction includes models from the most renowned names. Here, you’ll find lamps by Paavo Tynell, Alvar Aalto, Lisa Johansson-Pape, Yki Nummi, and Bertel Gardberg. Of particular interest is a large and spectacular church chandelier by Eino Schroderus, designed in the 1920s for Taidetakomo Koru. Among the internationally most sought-after models are Paavo Tynell’s models 1953 and 1088 in polished brass and glass.
