Once upon a time, it turned night into day and changed the lives of all those who dared to venture out after dark. In Sweden, it was called the "storm lantern," a perfect item to take along even in stormy weather. Its clever design made the flame almost unaffected by gusts of wind and heavy drafts.
Today, much later, these old reliable companions are of great interest to connoisseurs, and collectors from all over the world search (perhaps with light and lantern?) for the rarest models. Some of them are now available at Borås Auction Hall, which, under the theme "Primus Lamps," presents storm lanterns, kerosene lamps, spirit stoves, carbide lamps, and other small items within the same genre. Among the more than 40 lots, there is a true rarity – model No. 114, Radius Ltd – which could very well become a star. Or perhaps it will be one of the other pieces that ignites the enthusiasm. We'll see how it goes.
