Steaming hot sauna smoke rises from the premises of Auktionsmagasinet Vänersborg. There, they have embraced the stark winter landscapes, chalk-white glacier expanses, and never-setting summer suns of our eastern neighbor. The result is an impressive selection of art and crafts stemming from the very heart of Finland. Among the theme's more than 80 offerings, glass naturally takes a central position. Pieces that have left the fiery furnaces, long since cooled, and then polished and meticulously worked stand now for viewing in the showcases of Auktionsmagasinet Vänersborg. They share the space with, among other things, ceramics by Birger Kaipiainen, jewelry art by Björn Weckström, and the now almost obligatory Moomin mugs. Two expressive stoneware sculptures by Timo Sarvimäki stand out, as does a trendy floral ceiling lamp from Itsu. And when it comes to glass, it's hard to overlook the truly magnificent range of all of Markku Salo's creations from the series "Valley of the Kings". The same applies to Timo Sarpaneva's "Orchid", once acclaimed as the most beautiful object in the world! Many more items could be highlighted here, but perhaps there is a point in discovering them on your own as you get to know the offerings in the Design Sisu theme!
