Like small perfect pieces of confectionery in silver and gold. That's how one can describe Stockholm Auction House's theme Design Jewellery. The world's oldest auction house takes the shape of a candy box for selected jewelry and now lifts the lid, offering us a sparkling selection. Just look at Millie Behrens' ring in silver and lovely green enamel. Or the brooch from Georg Jensen, with its organic shapes appearing to grow so vigorously in sterling silver. Perhaps Nanna Ditzel's modernist Surf pendant, Jacob Tostrup's hypnotic forms in blue, and Ateljé Stigbert's silver necklace with beads in rhodochrosite, tiger's eye, and lapis lazuli added at a time when the forces of the summer of love overturned old ideals. But these are just some samples among much else. Such as Tapio Wirkkala's classic Silver Moon, Sven Erik Högberg's 18K gold armring, several works by Björn Weckström, and much more. Please help yourselves to Design Jewellery!
A selection of the items will be displayed from February 13th to 21st at Nybrogatan 32, weekdays from 10 am to 6 pm, Saturdays from 11 am to 4 pm, closed on Sundays. Welcome to the exhibition!
