The scent of freshly dipped popcorn hangs thick over Stockholm's Auktionsverk Globen as they now present a collection of advertisements for some of the best that 20th-century cinemas had to offer. Welcome to explore among over 70 film posters of the most varied kinds. Here, The Shining - "Here's Johnny!" - is interspersed with Ghostbusters, Gyllene Tider's Parkliv, and for cinephiles with an affinity for older times, a couple of posters featuring Greta Garbo as well. The oldest poster of the theme is a piece barely half a meter in size, an advertisement for "Alias John Higgins," printed in 1916 by the Stockholm company Tryckeriaktiebolaget Sätherlund & Krook. Along with the poster for "Livets Maskerad" where a cocktail is about to be spilled, it is an excellent example of the elegant advertising art of the 1910s. In short, it's high and low, laughter and horror, and perhaps also a bit of bang bang. Welcome!
