The scent of freshly dipped popcorn hangs thick over Stockholm's Auktionsverk Globen as they now present a collection of advertisements for some of the best that 20th-century cinemas had to offer. Welcome to explore among over 70 film posters of the most varied kinds. Here, The Shining - "Here's Johnny!" - is interspersed with Ghostbusters, Gyllene Tider's Parkliv, and for cinephiles with an affinity for older times, a couple of posters featuring Greta Garbo as well. The oldest poster of the theme is a piece barely half a meter in size, an advertisement for "Alias John Higgins," printed in 1916 by the Stockholm company Tryckeriaktiebolaget Sätherlund & Krook. Along with the poster for "Livets Maskerad" where a cocktail is about to be spilled, it is an excellent example of the elegant advertising art of the 1910s.
